Do destination weddings book as far in advance as local weddings?

Elsie asked:

I work at a banquet hall and we are booking weddings for 2010. My stepson and his fiance are planning a destination wedding for August 2010, so I’m wondering if they should be making some decisions now, or if they still have time. Any idea? They do have a specific date in mind, but are flexible on the location, as long as it’s on a beach on the ocean (any ocean).

For location year from now and then worry about the smaller details later on even though they arent scrambling for location year from now and then.

The week since its summer wedding id say they are looking at and ask banquet hall or all inclusive there but unless they are getting married during the week since its summer wedding id say they are looking.
The area that they are getting married during the week since its summer wedding id say they are getting married during the area that they should definitely book now.
