Do I need a videographer license to film weddings in Vancouver, Canada?

June 9th, 2010 | by admin |
S asked:

I want to shoot weddings in Vancouver as an immigrant, but legally. Do I need a license? How can I obtain it? I already have a film bachelor degree, but with editing and sound design specialist, not for a camera operator… Thanks!

I don’t think so. I think all you need is their permission.

You don’t need a videographer license, but if you want to be really really “legal”, you will want a business license, and maybe a GST and/or PST number. I have some links below where you can find out more about running a small business in Vancouver.
